We’re The original cupboard company — a small, hands-on workshop based in East London, specialising in bespoke wardrobes and built-in joinery.
We’ve been designing and crafting bespoke wardrobes and built-in joinery for over 25 years. Based in London, our workshop combines traditional techniques with modern precision to create timeless storage solutions tailored to each client’s home.
Every piece we make is carefully considered — from the proportions and materials to the finishes and hardware. Whether it’s a fitted wardrobe, a linen cupboard, or an entire dressing room, we believe in creating joinery that feels both functional and beautifully resolved.
With a focus on quality, simplicity, and longevity, our work is built to last — and to sit quietly within a space as though it’s always belonged.
Our Process
We’ve refined our process over 25 years to make commissioning bespoke joinery as smooth and collaborative as possible:
1. Quotation & Consultation
It begins with a quotation. We’ll discuss your ideas, take initial measurements, and talk through design options, colours, and materials.
2. Design & Drawings
You’ll receive detailed drawings based on our discussions. We’ll revise them until you're completely happy.
3. Deposit & Production
Once the design is approved, a 50% deposit secures your place in the workshop schedule. Your joinery is then made and spray painted in our East London workshop.
4. Fitting
Installation is usually completed in a day, depending on the size of the project. We aim to make the fitting process efficient and hassle-free.
Materials
We use carefully selected, high-quality materials to ensure your joinery is both beautiful and built to last:
Interiors
You can choose from a wide range of Egger board finishes for the internals — from warm woodgrains to sleek, modern textures.
Finish
All our joinery is spray-painted in a durable, smooth finish. We can colour-match to any paint brand, including Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, and more.
Timber & Boards
We use Finsa Hidrofugo Moisture Resistant MDF — a premium, high-density board that’s extremely hard and ideal for joinery. If desired, we can also work with real wood veneers for a natural, high-end finish.
Hardware
All hinges and drawer runners are top-quality Blum soft-close, offering smooth, reliable performance as standard.
